Iteras can send an automatic email to the subscriber/member upon cancellation or termination of a subscription. The function is enabled under customer service setup (under primary settings menu item).
The content of the stop email is dynamically generated, as the wording is adjusted to the subscriber's/member's specific situation upon cancellation, as well as the settings regarding when cancellation is allowed and what must be paid in that case. Therefore, the stop email cannot be edited (but you can use the Mailchimp integration to send other emails after cancellation, where you control the content yourself).
The email begins with a confirmation of the cancellation and may additionally contain:
Message stating that a new invoice will be sent for delivered but unpaid items
Note that there are other unpaid invoices at the time of cancellation, along with a reference to where the invoices can be found (in self-service)
Request to send a bank account number by email if the subscriber or member has money to be refunded
Note that the stop email is only sent if the customer cancels via self-service. If done through the publisher interface, no email is sent.
Example of cancellation email when there is an unpaid invoice:
"We confirm that the membership of Monthly Membership (membership number 201689) has been cancelled and will terminate at the end of the period. There are 24 days remaining.
You still have an outstanding payment for the membership and will receive an invoice if you haven’t already.
You can find your invoices in self-service."
Example of cancellation email when the customer stops mid-period and has money to be refunded:
"We confirm that the membership of Monthly Membership (membership number 201689) has been stopped immediately.
If you have money to be refunded, please send us your bank account number at [email protected]"
Example of cancellation email when the customer has multiple invoices to pay:
"We confirm that the membership of Monthly Membership (membership number 201689) has been stopped immediately.
You still have an outstanding payment for the membership and will receive an invoice if you haven’t already.
You can find your invoices in self-service."
