Restart is a function that makes it easy to restart a cancelled or ended subscription.
The function is always available via admin. It is available to customers if the setting is enabled in your business policy. You can check this by doing the following:
Open your Business policy.
Scroll down to Self-service.
Under Allow restart of subscriptions in the self service, you have two possible settings:
If you change the setting, remember to click the Save button at the bottom of the page before continuing.
Please note that through self-service, it is only possible to restart subscriptions that were cancelled or ended within 3 months from today. If a subscription is restarted via admin, there is no such limit.
Financials
ITERAS of course ensures that the financials ‘follow’ the choices made. This means invoicing and possible crediting will be handled automatically in line with the choices you or the subscribers make.
The technical side
If a subscription was stopped in the middle of a period, you can choose to continue where it left off when restarting.
However, once again, please note that in self-service, only subscriptions cancelled or ended within the last 3 months can be restarted. If restarted via admin, it is possible to change the campaign to another active campaign. Read more about this in the following section.
Restart via Admin
If you, as an admin, want to restart a stopped subscription, you must:
Go to the subscriber’s page and under the cancelled or ended subscription, click on the red bar or on More info.
The subscription info page now opens.
Click the Restart button, as shown in the image below.
A new page will now open where you can choose to restart the subscription. By default, it is restarted under the same campaign that was cancelled, but it is also possible to select a new campaign from the dropdown list.
This is only relevant if the chosen campaign is inactive and you want to change it to one that is active.
After selecting a campaign, you must now choose either:
Restart via Self-service
As mentioned in the introduction, if your business policy is set to “Allow restart”, the subscriber will see the “Restart” button on a cancelled subscription in self-service, as shown in the image below.
If the subscriber clicks the “Restart” button, they are taken to a page with information about the subscription and the price.
They confirm the terms by clicking the “Restart subscription” button, as shown in the example below.
After confirmation, they are taken back to the overview, and the subscription is once again listed as active, as shown in the example below.
