To start using Iteras for your subscription or membership management, you will need to set up payment agreement(s), configure the system, establish integrations, and import your data (unless you are launching a brand-new publication, association, or other organization). Iteras is, of course, ready to answer any questions you may have during the onboarding process.
1. Choosing payment methods
The first step is to decide which payment methods you want your subscribers/members/customers to be able to use.
2. System setup
Before Iteras can be used, it must be configured to meet your needs. Often, the initial setup will be carried out together with your Iteras consultant. At a minimum, the following needs to be configured:
Customer service
Business entity
Payment integrations
Products
Campaigns
Ordering forms
Any integrations, e.g., to your website or mailing system
Any publication schedule (if using publication-based campaigns)
3. Importing data (unless you are new)
Once everything is set up correctly, data is exported from your old system and imported into Iteras. This is typically done with assistance from Iteras, as subscribers/members must be created with the correct status, balances, etc. We are happy to perform the import on our test server first, so you can review and approve everything before we move it into the live system.
4. Setting up integrations
Iteras ordering forms and subscriber/member self-service can be easily integrated into most websites. This is simply done by inserting a snippet of code in the appropriate place. Read more about integrating ordering forms here.
Additionally, you can choose to implement Iteras’ paywall on your website. If you use WordPress, this can be done with just a few clicks. If you use another CMS, such as Drupal or Umbraco, the integration is done via Iteras’ API. This requires some development work – see API info here.
Iteras can also control access to e-publications hosted on Prenly, PressMatrix, Visiolink, and in apps created with Adobe’s system. This setup is handled by Iteras.
5. Setting up email dispatches
6. Going live
Once everything has been tested and approved, we will move the data to the live system and enable invoicing. At that point, you are ready to start using Iteras.
