Dates and Times for Start and Stop of Subscriptions (including pauses, vacations, etc.)

Updated this week

Subscriptions in Iteras are active from the exact second they are created until the exact second they are terminated.

Duration of Subscriptions

The duration of subscriptions on a month or more, the period runs from the start date to the same date in the renewal month.

“A monthly subscription is created on March 7 at 14:53:27. The subscription period therefore runs until April 7 at 14:53:27 (after which it is either renewed or ends).”

Access to digital subscriptions

For expiring digital subscriptions, access to digital content starts and ends precisely to the second.

Delivery of newspaper (print)

Subscriptions that include a print newspaper also start and stop to the second, but since the product is delivered once daily, the daily cut-off time is decisive in determining whether the subscriber receives the next day's paper.

This applies to both start and stop: If the subscription starts before the cut-off time on the start day, the subscriber will receive tomorrow’s newspaper. However, the subscription will also end before the cut-off time on the end date, meaning they will not receive the paper the day after the subscription ends. If the subscription starts after the cut-off time on the start day, they won’t receive tomorrow’s paper. However, they will get a paper the day after the end date, since the subscription ends after the cut-off.

Pausing

A pause takes effect from the exact second it is registered, and lasts until it is canceled.

Digital access is stopped immediately when the pause begins, and resumed as soon as the pause is canceled.

Print delivery stops the following day if the pause is registered before the day’s cut-off time, or the day after that if it is registered after the cut-off. Similarly, print delivery resumes the day after the pause is canceled (if before cut-off), or the day after that (if after cut-off).

Vacation

Vacations are registered by entering a start and end date.

Digital access is unaffected by a vacation — the subscriber maintains digital access during the vacation period.

Print delivery stops from and including the first vacation day, and remains stopped through the last vacation day. Changes (extensions, reductions, or cancellations) to the vacation period can be made up until the cut-off time the day before the vacation is set to start.
